Park City Utah Location

ELITEAM will not be offering any Park City camps in 2017, but plan to return in 2018!

ELITEAM has partnered with the U.S. Ski Team to provide exclusive access to the Team's Center of Excellence facility and World Class Trainers. ELITEAM will use the Center's gym, testing equipment, workout rooms, kitchen and classroom. Every afternoon, the athletes will hear directly from a U.S. Ski Team guest speaker to learn about a variety of topics, covering the target areas of Sports Physiology, Sports Psychology and Sports Nutrition. ELITEAM will also use the many recreational fields and trails in and around Park City.

ELITEAM provides all meals, as well as fruit and energy bars for snacks each day.

Camper/Staff Ratio

Approximately 45 campers attend each session. A ratio of 5:1 ensures personal attention for every camper.

Staff

Doug Lewis, a two-time U.S. Olympian and World Championship Medalist, is the creator of ELITEAM camps. Doug has been extensively involved in World Class athletics as a ski racer, coach, broadcaster, motivational speaker and spokesperson for over 30 years. Since retiring from the U.S. Ski Team, Doug has dedicated himself to passing on his winning knowledge of sports and competition to young athletes.

Kelley Lewis, ELITEAM's Director, is a former World Class ski racer and the force that keeps ELITEAM organized and moving forward. She structures ELITEAM with the goal of providing an environment that both educates and inspires.

Kelley and Doug consider the coaching staff to be a critical part of ELITEAM’s success. The staff is hand- picked for their experience, education, and positive energy. Over 80% have been ELITEAM campers themselves. Every coach has a passion for athletics and a desire to help each athlete achieve their best. Every staff member believes in the ELITEAM philosophy of the "complete" athlete, and is Red Cross CPR certified. In addition to the coaches, ELITEAM brings back exceptional campers from years past to work as counselors. They help motivate and inspire the young athletes, and provide a high standard and positive example for all campers.

Who Attends

ELITEAM is for high-energy kids who love outdoor activities and have goals of pursuing a specific sport. Many of the campers who attend are young ski racers, but competitive swimmers, golfers, hockey players and other athletes also attend. Any young athlete is welcome. ELITEAM is ideal for kids who are active, outdoorsy and enjoy a challenge!

ELITEAM's Program

ELITEAM’s program is quite strenuous. As such, it is important that your child arrive healthy and well rested. Additionally, we do not recommend ELITEAM as your child’s first overnight camp. The physically demanding nature of the camps, combined with the mental stress of being away from home for the first time can often be too much. Please consider this carefully. It is important to us that your child have a positive experience at ELITEAM.

Respect and Responsibility

Respect and responsibility are just as important as any physical activity that we do. Incidents of disrespect towards another camper, the staff, or the campus will not be tolerated. ELITEAM enforces a totally smoke-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free environment.

Communication Policy

Cell phones are not permitted at camp. In addition, ELITEAM does not allow campers to make or receive phone calls during the week. However, parents are welcome to call Kelley, Doug or your child's dorm parent at any time for an update, as well as send your child an email on our "Mail Day". Many parents also enjoy following us on the web with our daily blog and photo gallery updates.

Electronics

We don't need electronics at camp! Computers, iTouch/iPods, stereos, etc are not permitted at camp. Your kids can "unplug" for a few days and have fun the old-fashioned way!

Waitsfield VT Location

ELITEAM's roots run deep in Vermont. The camps began there in 1991 with a tiny group of enthusiastic campers, and have been growing ever since. ELITEAM's Vermont camps are held at one of the East's premier ski academies, the Green Mountain Valley School. All campers and staff stay in the dorms. ELITEAM utilizes the academy's gymnasium, soccer fields, and ropes courses, along with the Mad River Valley's extensive trails, fields and mountains for training and activities.

Although ELITEAM offers camps in both Utah and Vermont, the common goal of all camps is to educate, inspire and have fun. All sessions are overnight camps, which is an important part of the experience and education process. The athletes become fully immersed into the ELITEAM world for several intense days of work and fun!

Welcome to ELITEAM!

ELITEAM (as in Elite Team)  - - 2017 marks our 26th year!

ELITEAM Conditioning Camps are designed to make young athletes stronger, faster, healthier and more confident- all while having fun! ELITEAM's unique approach teaches these young athletes not only about Sports Physiology, but also the often overlooked, yet very important concepts of Sports Psychology and Sports Nutrition. ELITEAM's goal is simple- to develop healthy, confident, "complete" athletes.

Through our "hands-on" approach, ELITEAM involves the athlete in the education process. Activities such as rock wall climbing, ropes courses and race situations will be used to teach focus, mental imagery skills and stress management. Mountain biking, running and ski specific exercises will be used to understand the body's physiological functions. And by baking bread, muffins and other healthy snacks, and nutritionally evaluating a variety of foods, the athletes discover how diet can affect their health and performance.

Ultimately, ELITEAM is more than a set of conditioning camps and team-building programs. It is a philosophy. It is a way of life where the focus is on fun, healthy living, learning, growing, setting goals and pushing your limits, both mentally and physically.

Doug Lewis, co-creator of ELITEAM camps, is a two-time U.S. Olympian and World Championship medalist. Doug has been extensively involved in World Class athletics as a ski racer, coach, broadcaster, motivational speaker and spokesperson for over 30 years... and is dedicated to passing on his winning knowledge of sports and competition to young athletes.
